Correction
Sir:
I owe the Boston Globe a correction and apology for the statement in my article, “The Press and Its Critics” (July Atlantic), that the Globe was one of the papers that carried no news on the Report of the Commission on Freedom of the Press. The Evening Globe of March 27 carried a story of 16 inches length — an adequate report. The Report was released for morning papers of March 27 and my search was unhappily limited to that issue in papers having morning editions, as the Globe has. But it was still news that afternoon and I should not have missed the Globe’s story.
