Atlantic "Firsts"
For twenty years the ATLANTIC has held out a special incentive to short-story writers. In January, 1946, we began to publish what we called Atlantic “Firsts”—short stories by unestablished writers making their first appearance in our pages. We are happy to announce the following prizewinners for 1965:
First prize of $750 awarded to
JACK CADY
for “The Burning”
in the August issue
Second prize of $250 awarded to
LOUISA NEWLIN
for “Our Last Day in Venice”
in the October issue
