Alfred A. Knopf published her first book, THE BLACK PRINCE, in 1955 when she was just twentyjive years old, and since then editors and readers hare regarded her as a writer to watch. The best of her work has been reprinted in the O. Henry and Martha Foley collections. She has just fin ished a new novel.
