    Composer, lecturer, and writer, SAMUEL BARLOW studied orchestration with Respighi in Rome following his graduation from Harvard in 1914. His compositions have been played by the leading American symphony orchestras; and his Mon Ami Pierrot, which had its premiere in Haris in 1934 and was the first opera written by an American to be given at the Opéra Comique, is stilt in the company’s repertoire. Mr. Barlow has served as chairman of the Music Committee of the Independent Association of Artists, Scientists, and Professionals. He is equally at home in Europe.
