Rebecca Winthrop

Rebecca Winthrop, a researcher of and global authority on education, is the director of the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution and a co-author of The Disengaged Teen: Helping Kids Learn Better, Feel Better, and Live Better. She advises governments, international institutions, foundations, civil-society organizations, and corporations on education issues, and has advised the United Nations, the White House, and schools on how to better support children’s learning. She is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and holds a Ph.D. in education from Columbia University’s Teachers College. She writes the weekly LinkedIn newsletter Winthrop’s World of Education.
