Nancy C. Andreasen is the Andrew H. Woods Chair of Psychiatry at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and the former editor in chief of The American Journal of Psychiatry. In 2000, she was awarded the President’s National Medal of Science for pioneering the use of brain imaging to study cognitive processes and mental illness.
