Anita Grable, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, writes: "The feelings a person has about the change of seasons aren't exactly emotions, but what are they? Fall is poignant, winter bracing, spring invigorating, summer almost too much -- or that's the way the seasons seem to me here in the Midwest. I wish there were a word for these feelings that kept them separate from what we ordinarily think of as emotions, like anger and joy."

(Barbara Wallraff is on vacation this week, so I'm posting the new Fugitives for her. --WS)
