An item in The New York Times recently about Ellen Galinsky, the president of the Families and Work Institute, included the following:

"Ms. Galinsky also carries a list of words -- 36 so far -- as candidates to replace the term 'balance.' For her book, she wants a better term to describe the blurring of boundaries between work and family. She asks people for possibilities whenever she can but so far hasn't hit on the right answer."
