SnowAs the east coast sits snowbound, and as the snow continues to fall, now might be an appropriate time to revisit Cullen Murphy's January, 1995, cover story, "In Praise of Snow." Though Murphy's reverent treatment of snow might be incomprehensible to weary east coast shovelers right now, his essay moves beyond such questions as "When will it hit us?" and "How many inches this time?" and dwells instead on the crucial and largely unrecognized role that snow plays in our lives.
