What Brazilian soccer virtuoso came to the United States to play three seasons for the New York Cosmos before retiring in 1977?

He’s mononymous. 

And by the way, did you know that the championship of the North American Soccer League (the top U.S. organization from 1968 to 1984) was envisioned specifically in the mold of football’s Super Bowl?

The championship adopted the practice of selecting a neutral host city, for instance—but my favorite copy-paste decision was the phoned-in name the league gave its big game: the Soccer Bowl.
