The Eagle

POEMS
by ROBERTA TEALE SWARTZ
MY eyes are veiled and so are yours;
The film upon the eagle’s eye
Is not more alien to discourse,
And yet that bird knows how to fly
And dares a dangerous reach of sky
On wings imperial and free
That now but hugs the branch as I
Look not at you nor you at me.
The film upon the eagle’s eye
Is not more alien to discourse,
And yet that bird knows how to fly
And dares a dangerous reach of sky
On wings imperial and free
That now but hugs the branch as I
Look not at you nor you at me.
