THIS volume of poems gives us no hint of the world most of us live in today. International conflagration, countries ravaged, populations starving, totalitarianism, the class war, and the disintegration of the democratic ideal have no place in it. It is the expression of a versatile and polished talent and of an agreeable personality, speaking out of another existence. It is an existence where the values can still be those of warmth, color, fullness of living, the complexities and satisfactions of loving, of spring and blossoms and laughter. But all these things are created in sensitive and delicate rhythms, and with a Chinese touch in the posing and poising of moments of beauty and of feeling.
